Greg Sover – Songs of A Renegade – August 2017

There’s some hot new stuff coming out of Philadelphia in the ways of blues, rock, and good times!  Greg Sover has just released his second CD, “Songs of A Renegade,” and it is warming up the summer for sure!  Ten cuts with nine originals, and an up-tempo version of Bill Wither’s “Ain’t No Sunshine,” that has gained a lot of airplay in Philly so far.  Throw in “Moments,” the first cut on this CD, and Greg is making a name for himself on the local radio stations.  Not only does Greg write, he plays outstanding electric guitar, lead, rhythm as well as resonator guitar, slide, and acoustic guitar.  He can play anything it seems.  Even some latin sounding blues in there.  This is real blues/rock stuff.  No holding back, just pedal to the metal searing guitar, and a fine backup band to boot!  He’s been playing since he was 5, and sure has learned how to do it!  Greg’s songwriting and vocals are strong as well!  With most of his songs over 4 minutes long he gets to tell you his story and play his great music for you.  Philadelphia is a hard town to make it in doing anything.  Being a working musician, and getting right out there with the city’s best musicians, Greg has done a great job, and this is only the beginning!  www.gregsover.com Take some time to check this guy out.  He has plans to do some more recording this year as well.  Here’s wishing you and the band the best Greg!  One love, blue barry – smoky mountain blues society.
