CD Review: Peter V Blues Train – Running Out of Time, May 2018
By Blue Barry, Smoky Mountain Blues Society
The Peter V Blues Train is on the tracks and you better look out! Their new CD “Running Out of Time” is out, and with eleven cuts they lay down the law! Peter Veteska, aka Peter V, started playing guitar when he scored one out of a pawnshop at age 12! Hailing from Jamaica Queens, he has an awesome four-piece band that blasts on down the tracks. He played his first gig at age fifteen. Got sick of music for years, then picked it back up again. This time on a mission, and with some help of some fine musicians. He’s straight blues with a little funk, jazz, and lots of soul. Peter V just nails it with his fine guitar work and strong vocals! He also wrote seven of the songs! His band includes Alex D’Agnese on drums, Aron Louis Gornish on keys, and Sean Graverson on bass. Also Jeff Levine on keys, formerly with Joe Cocker, Hall & Oates and the Chambers Brothers. Sax player Danny Walsh of the Gregg Allman Band, Aerosmith, and several jazz bands adds some killer sax. Tom Adams adds some piano, Coo moe Jhee on bass, Eddie Jackson on congas and vocals ,and Gary Neuwirth on harp, and Kelley Dewkett on vocals for one cut rounds out the band. With thirteen cuts these veterans just lay down some great blues. Everything works. Great vocals and every instrument clear and clean. Go to www.peterbluestrain.com for more info. It sure is worth a listen! One Love, blue barry – smoky mountain blues society.
