The James Armstrong Band started the 2018 Blues Cruises series on May 20. More than 130 guests cruised along the Tennessee River (Loudon Lake), enjoyed listening to the amazing blues music and danced vigorously for 3 hours.
It was a great time to relax and breathe the fresh lake air and enjoy the company of likeminded blues aficionados. This is an event where you can mingle with some of the best local blues artists and followers of the music genre. Watch video.
Armstrong delivered a strong performance singing some of his original tunes and exciting covers. He was back by Johnny McGhee on lead guitar, Mark Bumgarner on bass, and James Carter on drums. McGhee was a founding member of the band L.T.D. in 1976. He was one of the pioneers of funk music. Photo gallery.
