Get out the wallet and credit card. Here’s one of the top 5 acoustic CD’s I’ve heard in the past several years! Rob Lutes – “Walk in the Dark.” Rob is a Canadian singer/songwriter, and this is his seventh album. I’m gonna’ have to look up the previous six! With ten originals, two more, co-written with friends, and one John Prine cover, you will not be disappointed. He writes great stuff and plays out of this world. He has some of the finest musicians in Canada helping him out and nobody gets in the way. It is a marvelous compilation of beautiful songs, Americana, Canadacana, if that’s a word, blues, folk, and just music to be envied. There’s a real large chance that you can’t play like Rob! His voice is soft and soothing, raspy at times, and changes with the songs. His musicianship is phenomenal, and the folks playing with him are outrageous. Rob MacDonald on electric, reso, and acoustic guitars, Mark Nelson on drums and percussion, Andrew Horton on bass, Bob Stagg on Piano, Wurlitzer, and Organ, and more! If you are an acoustic guitar lover you need this one! It is just beautiful. Congratulations, and thanks for a job well done. It took them three days in a Montreal studio to pull this off and you could tell they had the best time ever! The music just flows like a big river taking it’s time to give the listener total enjoyment. Rob Lutes – Walk in the Dark.
