Mighty Blue won the Regional International Blues Challenge, sponsored by the Smoky Mountain Blues Society, in 2017 and then made it to the finals of the IBC in Memphis, competing with over 200 bands from around the world in January 2018. Afterwards, they returned home, where they have reigned as Knoxville’s top Blues band ever since. Mighty Blue is comprised of: Chelsea Samples (lead vocals), “Super” Dave Eckman (saxophone), Joel Seaton (bass), Rich Wilson (drums), Jaimie Cameron (lead/slide guitar & vocals), and founding member and band leader, Michael James (guitar & vocals).
Tangled in Blues bio:
Tangled in Blues will be going to Memphis just a few days after this show to represent the Smoky Mountain Blues Society and East Tennessee in this year’s International Blues Challenge, having won the Regionals last August. Tangled In Blues has also just released their debut, 10-song album of all-original material entitled “World’s Going Crazy.” Tangled in Blues is comprised of: Michael James (bass & vocals), Jaimie Cameron (guitars & vocals), Michael Jordan (guitars & vocals), Dick Qulia (harmonica & vocals), and Jeff Hauschildt (drums).
