The Smoky Mountain Blues Society (SMBS) invites local blues musicians to submit an original, self-produced CD to be considered the local entrant for the International Blues Society’s original CD challenge, part of the IBC Challenge coming up in January.
CDs will be judged on the following criteria:
(1) Blues Content
(2) Musical Performance
(3) Audio Quality and Production Value of the Recording
(4) Professionalism and Visual Appearance of Cover Art and Design
(5) Credits and Liner Note Information.

As an affiliate, The Smoky Mountain Blues Society must sponsor and manage the submission. We need four copies of CD submission no later than October 18 so that SMBS can make the IBC’s submission deadline. Only one submission per affiliate is allowed, so let’s get some competition going. Should there be more than one entrant judging will be handled by SMBS and all decisions final.
